Hello!
I am so glad you came by to learn more about our AMAZING Bichon, Jasper!
Videos capture his demeanor. When we went to interview to adopt Jasper, it was March 21st, 2020.
Upon arrival, we found Jasper to be shaking behind Sherri the amazing individual who took care of him AFTER he was dropped off. He would not come near us, we had to get food sit down and wait for him to feel comfortable.
The minute he began trusting us, we were so enamored by him. We walked him outside to see how he managed a leash because we are a very active family and truly wanted a pet who wanted to do everything with us.
During his walk he was happy, excited and KNEW why we were there. He abruptly did what we NOW call PUTTING ON HIS BRAKES! He was only 11 pounds but those feet were going anywhere he wanted to turn around. We picked him up and cuddled him, we immediately were drawn to him like GLUE!
We went back inside and they had already performed all checks and asked if we wanted to take him home! We were so excited.
The rest is history. He had been beaten and left without food. It took a long time to calm his nerves. Today, our lives are so blessed having him by our sides.
During the pandemic Jasper helped us, as we are a 16p11.2 Chromosome Deletion Family. Our youngest, Nick has this and has mild Autism and ADHD. Jasper is LIKE a service animal to him. Nick isn't a pet person, well... he wasnt!
